Green Certifications
altWoodland, CA – June 1, 2010 – Here at PrimeWare, we have earned ourselves a lot of important certifications in order to prove to our customers that we are serious about being Eco-Friendly. In order to be awarded these certifications, products undergo rigorous testing by various agencies to make sure that we live up to all we claim.
Our products meet ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) International testing standards. PrimeWare products specifically meet ASTM standard D6868, which tests for biodegradability and compostability. We are meet the guidelines set by the FDA for food contact in food service. Our factories meet two different ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards. ISO 9001 certifies that our production methods meet a high level of quality management and system standards. ISO 14001 addresses “Environmental Management,” meaning what the organization does to:
  • minimize harmful effects on the environment caused by its activities
  • and achieve continual improvement of its environmental performance.
Perhaps most recognizable is our BPI (Biodegradable Products Institute) certification. A BPI certification means that after rigorous testing, our products were proven to be compostable and able to biodegrade in proper composting.
Certifications are important so you know that our products are truly what we claim they are: Safe for the environment. Because of our certifications, customers know that:
